The Wedding of Iris & Andrew

Bruno's Art & Sculpture Garden, Marysville

Iris's family own and run the famous Bruno's Sculpture Garden in Marysville. In fact Bruno, Iris's father, had prepared a special place for her and her partner Andrew to marry, on the bank of the Stevenson's River that meanders through a part of the sculpture garden. Bruno built here a pond with beautiful plants and ground cover with a new sculpture in honour of his daughter's wedding.

The perfect place for Iris and Andrew to marry was prepared and now a ceremony to match. When I started preparing the ceremony I felt it was important that the ceremony was harmonious with the beautiful surroundings.

It was asked that the guests bring a flower from each of their gardens to create a circle of flowers wherein Iris and Andrew would be married. We had a groom's entrance and a bride's entrance with both families giving the couple away. A beautiful, moving ceremony was created by everyone involved. It was indeed the perfect day Iris and Andrew had desired and deserved.

Welcome Ceremony

Welcome family and friends to the marriage of Iris and Andrew.
My name is Lea Rose, I'm a civil celebrant and I am delighted to facilitate this wonderful occasion with you all. On behalf of Andrew and Iris, family and friends I welcome you.

Iris and Andrew marry in this circle today, created by them and created by you. This connects us all together, a circle of family and
friends celebrating Iris and Andrew's marriage with love and blessings.

One of life's richest surprises is when the accidental meeting of two people leads them
to proceed together down a common path.

It is indeed one of life's finest experiences when a chance relationship grows into a permanent bond of love.

In December 2002 one of life's accidental meetings occurred.

At a casting agency in Melbourne Iris and Andrew were waiting for their interviews. Andrew thought to himself how could I ever meet a women like that.

Iris noticed Andrew was looking and thought
why is this guy staring at me, he seems so arrogant.

As Iris left she had the strange vision she would have coffee with this guy one day.

A month passed and as fate would have it they where cast for the same movie.

Andrew keeping to himself deep in thought, Iris decided to question his unsocial behaviour. The outcome was a short and honest conversation that washed away any barriers and misconceptions held between them.

Fate took over. An unexpected recall for work, a missed train, a lost shoe, and a heatwave. Love had woven it's magic between the hearts of Iris and Andrew and has been growing stronger everyday since.

So a chance meeting has brought us all here
today to celebrate Iris and Andrew's love for
each other. And the love they found that day.
